Namaste,
I want to share a few words about Gurupurnima and Prasad.
Gurupurnima is a very special time where the Guru is honored.
In our tradition the Feet of the Guru are very sacred.
This is because the Feet touch Mother Earth and connect to all.
On Kashi we will have a great celebration and Puja and afterwards
serve Prasad (sweets).
These next words are written by Ma on the meaning of Prasad …
” Namaste my Chelas,
The meaning of Prasad,
Foods offered to the Gods to be blessed. It is then given to devotees. One
who receives Prasad considers themselves to be purified and loved fully.
Our Baba has always said to feed everyone.
When my Baba said, “Feed Everyone,” it meant that one who came to his
ashram in India or any place where his chelas were, should be fed either
with food or spirituality or both.
Baba has always taught me that when one was hungry then he could not
look for God, only food. Then after a while, one could learn to put God
before food if he or she were fed spiritually.
The deeper meaning is the sharing. That is one of the first things my
Baba taught me: “God is in the sharing.”
What thrill it is to feed those who appreciate food.
What greater thrill it is to feed the hungry, homeless the sick and those
that do not take food for granted.
I have seen water turn into pure energy when offered in the essence of the
moment by a caring child to a ailing old one.
Food made with love and care is a live substance thus becoming the living
Guru God Buddha and such.
Prasad which is offered to the Lord Ganesha is usually sweet.
This is my favorite Prasad.
The sweetness of this great Lord then consumes the one receiving it.
How wonderful to be filled with the Lord Ganesha’s favorite foods.
That which is shared with a great amount of love is indeed Prasad.
Such joy in the giving of Prasad.
Such Joy in the accepting.
Feed every one Ma, says the Baba
Feed every one, says the Ma.
OK says the cooks in Rudras Kitchen.
And every one is fed.
It is all in the sharing.
Namaste

I am so grateful to live at the Feet of my Guru, Ma Jaya Sati Bhagavati.
I am so grateful to cook for Her and Her Kashi.
Here is our recipe …
Watermelon Granite or Ice is great in the summer time.
This is such a simple and delicious recipe.
Enjoy !!!

Ingredients & Utensils
- Small Organic Seedless Watermelon – about 8 cups of melon
- 2 Organic Lemons juiced (have a couple extra lemons on the side)
- 1/4 cup Organic Sugar
- Food Processor
- Flat type pan – stainless or glass
- Whisk
- Large Stainless Spoon
Directions:
Step 1: Wash the outside of the melon and cut rind off.
I like to wash the outside of the melon with soap and get any dirt off before prepping on the cutting board.
Then remove the ends of the melon so it will stay flat on the board.
Carefully follow the curve of the melon with the knife, trying best as possible to leave the fruit with no rind.
Now you can cut the melon into chunks.
Step 2: Use the Food Processor, mix in Lemon Juice and Sugar
Fill the food processor about half way and pulse the machine so you end up with a pureed melon that has some texture.
Add the juice of 2 lemons and 1/4 cup of sugar. Mix well with a whisk.
Taste, and see if you need a little more lemon.
Do your final mix and place into the freezer.
Step 3: Scrape the Ice and Serve.
Ok, next…
You are supposed to stir the mixture every hour or so while it freezes.
But when I did this recently I put it the freezer and did not get back until the morning.
It worked out fine.
It was really hard so I left it out just a couple minutes to thaw slightly.
Just long enough so the ice had not melted but was getting easier to scrape.
Then with a large stainless spoon scrape the ice into a serving dish.
Serve immediately.
Enjoy !!!
