Namaste,
Serving prasad is such a big part of celebrations on Kashi.
This next prasad recipe was served during one of the nights of Durga Puja.
Durga Puja is a very special time of the year to honor the Mother.
The Mother represents caring, love, nourishment, and protection.
There are three nights to Mother Kali. who takes away what we we do not need.
There are three nights to Mother Laxmi, who brings prosperity.
There are three nights to Mother Saraswati, who brings creativity.
On the tenth day there is a big celebration for Mother Durga, who brings protection and compassion.
In actuality all the forms of the Mother share all these attributes.
Ever since I was a young boy I have loved Durga Puja.
Sitting under the Kashi sky with Ma and Baba, at the Feet of my Guru and Sat Guru.
There is a feeling of timelessness.
The colors, sounds, and scents of puja under the Kashi stars.
The stillness of Kashi at “cow dusk time” (sunset time), moving into night.
This is a time to ask for ourselves and for others, anything your heart may need.
It is a time of gratitude and joy.
Everyone is welcome. Please come and share this with us if you have the opportunity.
After each puja, prasad (sweets) is served.
I hope you enjoy this next prasad recipe.
These bars are vegan, gluten free, easy to make and delicious!
Enjoy !!!

Ingredients & Utensils:
- 2 lbs. Organic Coconut Date Rolls (usually in the bulk section of health food stores)
- 8 oz. – (1/2 a jar) Organic Unsalted Peanut Butter
- pinch Sea Salt
- 1 1/2 cups Organic Vegan Chocolate Chips
- 2 Tablespoons Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
- Mixing Bowl
- Whisk
- Baking Sheet Pan or Large Pyrex Pan
Directions:
Step 1: Press the Date Rolls into Baking Pan:
I recommend leaving the coconut date rolls at room temperature for a little while. This will make them softer and easier to press. Use the pad of your thumb and then your palm to press the dates into a solid seamless sheet.
Step 2: Mix Peanut Butter in Bowl with pinch of Sea Salt:
Using the whisk make the peanut butter creamier. If you are using salted peanut butter there is no need to add more. Spread the peanut butter over the date sheet.
Step 3: Melt the Chocolate Chips:
In a double boiler or a thick bottom skillet add the coconut oil then the chocolate chips. On a low heat melt and stir until smooth. Pour over the peanut butter and spread evenly. Put into the refrigerator to firm up the peanut butter and harden the chocolate. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
Step 3: Cut the Bars into Squares:
Cut the bars into squares and remove with a metal spatula.
Serve & Enjoy !!!
