Roasted or baked butternut squash is one of the best and simplest.
Ingredients & Utensils:
- Organic Butternut Squash
- Organic Vegetable Oil
- Unbleached parchment baking paper
- Baking sheet pan
- Chef knife
- Cutting Board
Directions:
Step 1: The most challenging part of this recipe is prepping the squash. Butternut squash is very hard, so please be careful !
After washing squash cut the very most top off, the stem side.
Next cut the squash in half lengthwise.
Scoop out the seeds from the bulb part.
Step 2:
Lightly coat the orange flesh side with a vegetable oil.
Place on unbleached baking paper orange flesh side up, and bake in pre-heated 300 degree oven.
Because the squash are thick this takes longer than the Fries, and this is why the oven temperature needs to be lower.
Depending on the size and the squash allow 40 – 60 minutes to be done. The best rule is check frequently and rotate your pan for even baking.
When golden brown and soft they are done.
