Namaste,
Last weekend Kashi participated in a nation wide program called “Stamp Out Hunger”.
It is run by the U.S. Postal Service and helps to gather food for organizations that feed those in need.
Kashi’s service arm is called “The River Fund”, which relies on these supplies to serve many many people.
Every 2 weeks hundreds of sandwiches are made and served to those in need.
As well, produce, baked goods, and canned goods are given out.
The core of Ma’s teaching is service, here is a quote of her words:
“When my Baba said, “Feed everyone,” it meant that one who came to his ashram in India or any place where his chelas were, should be fed either with food or spirituality or both.
Baba has always taught me that when one was hungry then he could not look for God, only food. Then after a while, one could learn to put God before food if he or she were fed spiritually.
The deeper meaning is the sharing. That is one of the first things my
Baba taught me: “God is in the sharing.”
What thrill it is to feed those who appreciate food.
What greater thrill it is to feed the hungry, homeless the sick and those that do not take food for granted.”

On this Stamp Out Hunger Day, a group of young people from “Yoga Fox in South Florida, came to help Kashi serve.
The prasad served that evening was blueberry oat bars.
One of the young people asked for the recipe, and so here it is.
This recipe for Blueberry Oats Bars is gluten free and delicious.
Thank you Ma for the grace to serve and feed everyone at your Feet.

- 7/8 cup Sugar – Organic
- 2 Eggs – Organic (Large)
- 2 1/4 cups Blueberries – Organic
- 1 Tablespoon Vanilla Extract – Organic
- Utensils:
- Measuring cup
- Measuring Spoons
- Mixing bowls
- Whisk
- Baking Pan
- Rubber Spatula
Directions:
Step 1: Mix the dry ingredients:
Probably the most important part of this recipe is shopping for the dry ingredients first.
When I make this, I use whole gluten free organic rolled oats and
grind it into oat flour in a Vita Mix blender.
If you do not have this, you can buy oat flour at large health food stores or on-line.
Shop for Xanthan at a large health food store or on-line, Bob’s Red Mill makes this.
In a mixing bowl measure all the dry ingredients together and whisk well so they are incorporated.
This is important because you do not want clumps of anything.
Step 2: Mix the wet ingredients in a separate bowl
Crack the eggs into the bowl, whisk well.
Add the sugar and whisk well.
Add the melted butter, whisk well.
Add the vanilla and whisk well.
Fold in the Blueberries.
Step 3: Mix wet into dry:
Make a space in the center of the dry ingredients.
Add the wet ingredients into the space of the dry ingredients.
Mix well to make a creamy batter.
Step 4: Bake the Bars:
Grease your baking pan with some butter or nonstick spray or even coconut oil.
Add the batter and smooth it out with the spatula.
Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven.
The bars are done when they have set up and are lightly brown.
Somewhere in the 20 – 30 minute range,
but every oven is different, and depending on your baking pan,
the thickness of the batter changes as well.
It is good to test with a toothpick or small knife.
If the knife goes in and out dry, the cake is done.
Let cool, cut into bars and serve.
Enjoy !!!
